Comentario sobre las fotografías: Fotos hechas por Vicente Serrano en agosto de 1973 en los primeros meses de la construcción del ensanche del Puerto, realizado por mi hijo Mariano desde el mes de Abril de 1973.
(!) EL ENSANCHE DEL PUEBLO TENÍA QUE SER POR EL BARRIO DE LA MOLINETA DONDE HABÍA MUCHOS TROZOS DE TIERRA PRÓXIMOS AL CONJUNTO URBANO, PROPIEDADES PEQUEÑAS QUE NO RENDÍAN NADA Y SOLO SE UTILIZABAN PARA MODESTAS PLANTACIONES.
MI HIJO MARIANO QUE SIEMPRE HABÍA TENIDO GRAN CARIÑO AL PUERTO PENSÓ ENGRANDECERLO URBANIZANDO ESAS TIERRAS Y PENSÓ PARA ELLO CREAR UNA SOCIEDAD COMO ASÍ LO HIZO EN UNIÓN DE VARIOS SEÑORES DE VARCELONA QUE SE TITULÓ "ORBITUR" QUE COMPRÓ A PRECIO INSOSPECHADO PARA LO QUE VALÍAN ESOS TERRENOS; CONSTRUYÓ EDIFICIOS, ASFALTÓ VIALES Y FORMÓ UNA URBANIZACIÓN LLAMADA "PLAYASOL" QUE CAMBIÓ POR COMPLETO EL PANORAMA EN ESCASOS MESES. SE INSTALÓ UN RESTAURANTE, SALAS DE JUEGOS, PARQUES, GUARDERÍA Y HASTA CAPILLA Y EMPEZARON A CONSTRUIRSE APARTAMENTOS Y VENTA DE PARCELAS, TODO ELLO ADORNADO CON PASEOS, BARES, ESTATUILLAS Y ESPACIOS DEPORTIVOS QUE FIGURAN EN LAS FOTOS DE ESTAS PÁGINAS.
